Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-time trainer Cervara.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is his first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.
Victory also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one different events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is particularly special," stated ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's defensive approach and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was over.
Yet the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and play aggressively, backed up by an better serve.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to force a final set.
Moutet defended four early-game opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
