'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane dampens on Premier League return

Kane celebrates his hundredth goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has revealed that his interest in going back to the Premier League has faded and he is prepared to explore a new agreement with Bayern Munich.

The accomplished striker is currently halfway through the four-year agreement he agreed to when moving to from Tottenham Hotspur for a substantial fee in the transfer window of 2023.

The experienced forward has accumulated an impressive 103 goals in 106 games for the German side, playing a key role in them win the 2024-25 Bundesliga crown - which marked the first significant honor of his illustrious career.

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has previously mentioned that he would be pleased to see Kane return to England, where he lacks 48 goals to overtake Alan Shearer's record Premier League scoring milestone of 260.

However, the England skipper has now clarified that he is no longer as eager about coming back home as he previously was, and would seriously contemplate extending his time in Bavaria.

"In terms of staying longer, I could definitely see that," he commented.

"I discussed openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they were to arise I would be open to talk and have an honest conversation.

"Obviously it hinges on how the next year or so progresses and what we accomplish together. Right now, I would say we are in a fantastic moment and I am not focusing about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has diminished a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have discovered in my career is that different opportunities and different periods happen and things align. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am fully all in with Bayern."

Record-breaking Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the all-time top scorer for both Tottenham and England and not long ago became the fastest player this century to achieve 100 goals for a club competing in one of Europe's top five leagues, reaching the landmark in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a trophy had escaped him until he secured the German title last season.

Kane states that he was not sure how he would react after overcoming his trophy barren spell, but now thinks it has made him eager for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be tempting to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he explained.

"But it's given me more inspiration to do more and be better. I think I've demonstrated that this year.

"I was curious in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to attain in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I challenged myself the other way in terms of being even better, eating even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Looking Ahead

  • Ongoing success with Bayern Munich remains Kane's main focus
  • The possibility of a Premier League return has significantly decreased
  • New contract talks could commence in the near future
  • Kane's remarkable goal-scoring record continues to impress
