I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly proceeding.
